Setting Mail Authentication In Netscape 6 & 7

Enabling SMTP Authentication Within Your Mail Client

*** NOTE: your username is your complete e-mail address. make sure you use a % sign instead of an @ sign in Netscape. ***
  1. Click Edit
  2. Click Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings
  3. Under your account click on Outgoing Server (SMTP)
  4. Make sure your server name is typed in and check the box Use name and password
  5. Enter your User Name
  6. NOTE: your username is your complete e-mail address
  7. Make sure you use a % sign instead of an @ sign in Netscape
  8. Click OK

PLEASE NOTE: Some ISPs (because of SPAM) now require special SMTP settings. If you receive Email but can't send email check with your local ISP for correct Outgoing Email Settings. This includes cox.net and earthlink.net (or .com).
